ISLAMABAD: Met Office has forecast that a westerly wave will likely to enter in western and upper parts of Pakistan on May 22nd and persist during the week with occasional gaps until May 26.
Provincial Disaster Management Authority Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has directed district administrations and concerned departments in a circular to take precautionary measures to tackle any contingency.
Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rainfall with wind-dust or thunderstorm and hailstorm at some places in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal and Jhelum under the influence of this weather system from May 22 to 26.
Rainfall is expected in Sargodha, Mianwali,
Layyah, Khushab, Bhakkar, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Sheikhupura, Nankana, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Narowal, Sialkot, Kasur, Pakpattan, Okara, Sahiwal, Lahore, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalnagar, Multan, D.G. Khan and Rajanpur from 23rd to 26th May.Balochistan and upper Sindh districts of Sukkur, Dadu, Jacobabad and Larkana will likely to receive rain from May 22 to 24.
Dust or wind storms may cause damage to lose structures and standing crops in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir during 23rd to 25th May, the Met Office warned and advised farmers to remain cautious during the forecast period.
Prevailing hot weather conditions are likely to subside during the wet spell.
