LAHORE: Former PTI leader Ayesha Gulalai has announced that four transgenders will be contesting elections from her newly-formed party ‘Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Gulalai’
In an interaction with the journalists a day ago, Gulalai announced that she would field four transgenders in the upcoming elections against rival opponents. Gulalai added that she would be contesting the election from six constituencies.
“I will stand against Imran in Rawalpindi,” she announced.

Gulalai and her newly-formed party are all set to contest the upcoming polls The general elections are scheduled to be held on July 25.
Ayesha Gulalai shot to prominence after she addressed an explosive press conference
last year accusing the PTI chief of misogyny and sending her inappropriate text messages. She also alleged that women were not respected in the PTI and she had quit over differences with the party leadership. All charges were dismissed by the party.Gulalai was sent a show cause notice after the press conference to explain her actions but she didn’t respond. The party sent a final notice to Gulalai, a copy of which was also sent to the ECP and Speaker National Assembly.
Later PTI chairman Imran Khan decided to expel Gulalai from the party over violation of discipline and leveling ‘false allegations’.
