Four Jamaatul Ahrar camps destroyed on Pak-Afghan border: sources

Pakistan Army destroyed four training camps of Jamaatul Ahrar on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border late Friday night, sources told ARY News.

Sources claimed that the army destroyed the camp and training compound of Jamaatul Ahrar deputy commander Adil Bacha along with three other terrorist camps.

It is pertinent to note here that Jamaatul Ahraar had claimed responsibility of the 13 February blast in Lahore which killed 14 people including two senior police officers.

108 people were injured in the suicide attack during protests staged by chemists at Lahore’s Mall Road on Monday.

In other parts of the country, law enforcement agencies and security forces have arrested at least 78 terror suspects after the recent wave of terror which saw country’s three provinces shake with explosions.

Earlier in the day, officials of the Afghan embassy were summoned to the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi to protest over the recent terrorists attack reportedly carried out from Afghan soil.

According to the Director-General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor, the Afghan officials were handed a list of 76 terrorists hiding in Afghanistan.

The Afghan government was asked to either take “immediate action” against them or hand them over to Pakistan.
