Four colliers killed, two injured in Jamshoro coalmine blast

JAMSHORO: At least four miners were killed and two others received burn injuries in a gas explosion inside a coalmine in Jamshoro district on Tuesday, ARY News reported.    

The blast took place after Methane gas collected inside the mine and went off, said that sources and added that the coalmine was collapsed after the explosion in Khanote Coalfield in Jamshoro.

Rescue officials shifted the bodies and the injured to nearby hospital. The hospital’s officials said that the injured were in critical condition.

The deceased were identified as Ali Asghar Muradani, Muharram Ali Nehlani, Gul Hassan Daiyono and Allah Bux Daiyono.

Police investigation is underway to unearth the cause of incident.

Earlier, at least four coal miners had been killed while one injured in gas explosion in a coalmine in Balochistan’s Chamalang area on January 2, local officials had said.

The Levies officials had said that the dead bodies and the injured had been transferred to a hospital in Quetta.

People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto while expressing his sympathy with the families of deceased miners, had said that the administrative mismanagement resulting in deaths of the miners in rampant deadly mining incidents.
