Four civilians martyred, seven injured in Indian firing at LoC

MUZAFFARABAD: At least four civilians including a child were martyred in unprovoked Indian forces firing along the Line of Control, ARY News reported.

Pakistani troops at forward positions on LoC effectively responded to the Indian aggression.

Four persons including three women and a child were martyred and 11 other civilians were injured and transferred to hospitals, sources said.

Indian troops targeted civilian population along different sectors of the LoC, sources said. The enemy forces resorted to shelling on civil population at Abbaspur, Chharoi, Khoi Ratta, Nathial, Darra Sher Khan, Bhimber and Chhamb sector, reports said.

The enemy forces used light and heavy artillery to target the civilian population,  reports said.

According to reports, casualties took place in Charhoti, Fatehpur Thakiala and Khoi Ratta tehsils.

Earlier, on Tuesday Indian aircraft intruded the Line of Control (LoC) near Muzaffarabad sector, however they scrambled back following timely response from the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor in a tweet said the Indian Air Force violated the LoC and the PAF’s prompt response compelled the Indian aircrafts to go back.

He said “facing timely and effective response from Pakistan Air Force, [Indian jets] released [their] payload in haste while escaping, which fell near Balakot.” However, no casualties or damage was reported, DG ISPR added.

“Indian aircrafts’ intrusion across LOC in Muzaffarabad Sector within AJ&K was 3-4 miles. Under forced hasty withdrawal aircrafts released payload which had free fall in open area. No infrastructure got hit, no casualties. Technical details and other important information to follow,” Ghafoor said in a series of tweets.
