Former cricketer Abdul Razzaq likely to join PTI soon

ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistani all rounder Abdul Razzaq may join the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) led by cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan in the coming days, according to sources privy to this development.

Quoting sources, ARY News reported, PTI leader Usman Dar held a meeting with the former cricketer in Dubai, during which the latter expressed his desire to join the party.

Sources said a meeting will be arranged between Razzaq and PTI chief Imran Khan in this regard, after which he may announce his joining the party.

As next general elections are fast approaching, political activities have picked up across the country with political parties holding public meetings to mould public opinion in their favour, leaders switching allegiances, and forming new alliances.

A day earlier, former Sindh governor Mumtaz Bhutto’s Sindh National Front (SNF) was merged with the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf in a bid to give the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) a tough time in Sindh.

SNF vice chairman Ameer Bux Bhutto signed an agreement with PTI vice president Shah Mahmood Qureshi to this effect.

Former military ruler Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf has also announced formation of a 23-party alliance.
