ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi will participate in an international conference on Kashmir in London to be held in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day, reported Radio Pakistan.
British Parliament members, Pakistani and Kashmiri leaders will also attend the event to highlight the Kashmiri cause at the international fora.
The conference is being held to express solidarity with the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir for their birth right to self determination apart from highlighting their struggles.
Qureshi will also meet members of the British parliament and other senior government officials apart from discussing matters of bilateral interest besides highlighting Pakistan’s principled stand on Kashmir.
Talking
to journalists upon arrival at London airport, Shah Mehmood Qureshi underscored the need for resolving the Kashmir issue through dialogues. The foreign minister said that he would present Pakistan’s view point on Kashmir in the ‘International Conference on Kashmir’.He said Pakistan’s stance on the Kashmir issue was well-explained and added that Pakistan would continue political, moral and diplomatic support to Kashmiri people in their just struggle for self determination.
Qureshi concluded that pellet guns were being widely used against unarmed and innocent Kashmiris. He said India, the so-called champion of democracy, was responsible for atrocities and violation of human rights in the occupied Kashmir.
