Five killed over rival families dispute in Mardan

MARDAN: Five people were killed and six injured after a dispute between two families turned into violence in Toru village of Mardan today (Wednesday). 

Two families had a long-standing dispute and the disagreement turned into a bloodshed as both parties resorted to use of guns, resulting in fatalities.

According to the police, both groups lost two of their members in the firing, while a passerby was also killed in the exchange of fire.

The brutal exchange resulted in the death of a brother, uncle, and cousin of the affected families.

The wounded were shifted to hospitals in Mardan and Peshawar.
