KARACHI: Five people including three firefighters suffered injuries as a factory caught fire in SITE area of Karachi, ARY News reported.
The shoe factory located near the Habib Bank roundabout caught fire on Thursday evening. As a result, five people including three firemen received burns and were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
A section of the factory collapsed after the fire. Despite the intermittent rainfall in the city, firefighters were unable to difuse the fire. Two fire tenders from Pakistan Navy
were called to assist in extinguishing the fire, and help in the rescue operation.The factory administration alleged that the employees deliberately set fire, after a row over receiving their salaries before the Eid-ul-Azha holidays. Further investigation are currently underway to ascertain the real cause of the incident.
