First lady inaugurates dedicated wing for destitute citizens in Karachi

KARACHI: The first lady of the country, Samina Alvi inaugurated a dedicated shelter for senior and destitute citizens on the premises of Sweet Home Villa, an orphanage managed by Pakistan Bait ul Maal. 

She expressed her satisfaction that sincere efforts were being made for rehabilitation of the children who may have lost their parents owing to one or the other reason as well as those elderly people rendered homeless and abandoned due to circumstances.

“Our child and youth hold tremendous talent and need to be groomed so as to be turned into an asset for the nation,” she said.

She also appreciated Aun Abbas Bappi, Chairman of Pakistan Bait ul Maal and all those associated with the body for contributing towards a cause that should be close to the heart of every Pakistani.

The first lady on the occasion also planted a sapling and mingled with children and other inmates of the two facilities.

Aun Abbas shared in detail the services being provided to the children living in Sweet Home Villa comprising quality education, computer training and relevant recreational activities.
