LAHORE: A fierce fire erupted in a godown at Timber Market on Ravi Road of Lahore in the wee hours of Saturday engulfing four adjacent shoe factories and resulting in massive property loss, ARY News reported.
The raging blaze has been doused after hours of firefighting. Seven fire tenders extinguished the blaze and presently the cooling process has been underway, sources said.
According to ARY News reporter, the fire erupted in a godown due to short circuit which within minutes engulfed the nearby shoe factories. The rubber in the factories, a highly inflammable material, reportedly caught fire adding severity to the blaze.

No loss of life has been reported in the fire incident. Narrow alleys of the area hinder the firefighting operation resulting in massive property loss.
Last week, 21 shops were burnt in a blaze at city’s Anarkali Bazaar. The fire brigade then said that it took hours to control the fire as it was difficult to reach on the spot through narrow alleys of the congested area.
