Federal Cabinet meets today, CADD to be abolished

ISLAMABAD: On third day of Eid-ul-Azha, the government is all geared up to work as a federal cabinet session is scheduled for later today.

Prime Minister Imran Khan will chair the cabinet session where the approval to abolish the Ministry of Capital Administration and Development  Division (CADD) will likely be granted during the session.

The Ministry of CADD was introduced by Pakistan Peoples Party government’s Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani. The ministry has got administrative control of the Capital Development Authority, 422 educational institutes and hospitals in the federal territory.

After dissolution of the CADD ministry the educational institutes in capital territory will go to the Ministry of Education and the healthcare facilities to the Ministry of Health, while the CDA will be given in the supervision of the Cabinet Division.

Finance minister Asad Umer will also give briefing in the cabinet session today on the economic situation of the country.

Earlier today, PM Khan visited the Foreign Ministry for the first time after holding his office. Pakistan’s relations with neighboring countries, China, the US and European countries were reviewed on this occasion.

The discussion on paving the way for better ties with India and resolution of the Kashmir issue were also the part of the premier’s visit.
