Petrol supply was completely suspended as production stopped at Attock Refinery due to a technical fault on Tuesday.
As a consequence, petrol supply to northern areas of the country and six districts of North Punjab was obstructed completely.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) took notice of the shortage. Documents suggested that the production of 3800 metric ton suspended and that no petrol will be supplied by the refinery for next five days.
At this, the Ogra directed 12 oil marketing companies to supply the additional quantity of petrol.
The regulatory authority said that action will be taken against concerned marketing company if the shortage occurred anywhere.
