Fawad Chaudhry says PML-N’s Mushahidullah appointed ‘whole family’ in PIA

ISLAMABAD: Minutes after apologising to opposition in Senate, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry on Wednesday heavily criticized Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Mushahidullah for appointing his family members on important positions in Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), ARY News reported.

The minister, who earlier accused the PML-N leader of similar wrongdoings while using his influence to appoint his family members in the organization in National Assembly, repeated his allegations before media outside Senate.

“Mushahidullah was himself recruited as a loader in PIA, his brother Mujahidullah Khan is a flight attendant, Rashidullah Khan was made New York station’s operation head during Nawaz-era while Sajidullah Khan was appointed as Assitant Manager at the same station,” said Fawad Chaudhry.

The minister added that Mushahidullah himself heads the Senate Committee on Aviation which means “we are trusting someone with a vested interest” on matters related to aviation.

He also claimed that Mushahidullah received medical treatment on PIA’s expense which cost the national airline a whopping Rs3million.

Chaudhry also accused Chairman Senate on partiality for adjourning the session without listening to his arguments and asking him to apologise for similar remarks in NA.

“The facts that I am stating here should have been presented in Senate but I was asked to apologise rather than putting facts before the legislature. I should have been heard and then people should have decided if I or Mushahidullah needs to apologise,” said Chaudhry.

The minister announced that he will send this matter of political appointments to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) as holding “such people” accountable is the foremost priority of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.
