Fata parliamentarians laud merger of tribal areas with KP

ISLAMABAD: Parliamentarians from Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) have lauded the Fata Reforms describing the initiative as a new milestone in the history of the country.

The reforms include merger of Fata with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. While the federal government could no longer intervene in matters pertaining to Fata after implementation of the reforms.

Parliamentary Leader of Fata MNA Shah Jee Gul Afridi said that the government’s initiative is a practical step for provision of equal rights to the people of FATA, Radio Pakistan reported.

Shah Jee Gul Afridi said that the decision will not only benefit the people of Fata but the entire country. He said the decision would also help improve our foreign policy and relations with the neighboring countries. He said it will strengthen government’s writ in the area.

To a question, he said that all the 19 parliamentarians from Fata are agreed on the reforms and they are committed to play their due role in the national development.

Earlier addressing a news briefing in Islamabad, parliamentarians from Fata said their reservation regarding the Fata Reforms have been fully addressed by the government.

They demanded that Fata Reforms should be approved and implemented. They said that after the implementation of Fata Reforms there will be same law all over the country.

Parliamentarians said that social and economic development and establishment of peace are important components of reforms.
