Facebook, Google wish Independence Day to Pakistan

This is the sixth time that Google has commemorated the day by featuring a customised logo or doodle on its homepage. The clickable logo shows a list of national public holidays in the country.

It depicts some of the most prominent discoveries of the Indus Valley Civilisation, including the ‘Priest King’ and ‘Dancing Girl’, which were discovered in the ancient city of Mohenjo Daro.

The Indus Valley Civilisation is one of the oldest civilisation in the world dating back to 5000 B.C. built on the banks of the River Indus in modern-day Pakistan. The city of Mohenjo Dar was the largest city of the era and one of the earliest urban settlements in the world.

The planned city was abandoned around 2000 B.C and was rediscovered in the 1920 by archaeologists. There are many unsolved mysterious about the city due to inadequate research which includes deciphering the language and know the name which the inhabitants of the city used.
