QUETTA: In what seems like a bomb blast intended to target police personnel, an explosion has hit on Monday a police vehicle outside the University of Balochistan but no immediate casualties have been reported, ARY News learned.
The Balochistan home minister said police were the direct target of the bombings and according to the immediate reports from rescue sources, some five personnel have been injured in the explosion while there are five bystanders who have suffered injuries.
The law enforcement agencies have reached the bombing site and have taken over the situation.
According to the latest update, the targets were police personnel but more shall be disclosed on both the incident and its aftermath today.
CTD kills TTP terrorist in Peshawar
Separately today from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has shot dead a hardcore terrorist of a banned outfit in Peshawar.
According to the CTD spokesperson, the terrorist of banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was shot dead in an action in Peshawar’s Lower Dir. Arms and hand grenades were recovered from the custody of the killed terrorist.
The terrorist was involved in attacks over police and security forces in the area and the provincial government had fixed Rs0.5 million head money for his arrest.
