Execution of Akram Lahori put on hold

According to details, the execution was scheduled for 6.00 am today in Kot Lakhpat Jail Lahore. However, minutes before, his family members appeared with an agreement with the aggrieved party. The family pleaded to stay the execution as the aggrieved party had already pardoned Akram Lahori.

The magistrate ordered to delay the hanging and summoned the victim and convict’s families to register their verdicts.

Lahori was on death row for his involvement in sectarian killing. He was given death sentence for firing on a procession in Imambargah (Shorkot) in 2011, which killed a man named Nayyar Abbas. There are 28 other murder cases registered against him.
