‘Esaar Khyber Pakhtonkhwa programme’ launched for IDPs assistance

More than 8,00,000 (0.8 million) people have left North Waziristan in the wake of military offensive against militants and temporarily residing in different parts of the province and country.

Under the Esaar Khyber Pakhtonkhwa Programme, each of the IDPs family has been provided Rs 3,500 for monthly house rent. Besides, payment of Rs 5,000 to each of the displaced families under Ramazan package has also begun.

Around 7,000 families have so far been provided financial assistance under the welfare programme for IDPs.

The KP government reiterated its resolve to help IDPs in this testing time and avoid facing them hard-scrabble life.
