Erstwhile APML chairman Dr Amjad joins PTI

ISLAMABAD: Former chairman of All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) Dr Muhammad Amjad has joined Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), ARY News reported on Friday.

PTI chief and Prime Minister Imran Khan welcomed Dr. Amjad into the party.

Secretary General of PTI Arshad Dad and PM’s special adviser Naeemul Haq were also present on the occasion.

The new member of the PTI said “I have complete faith in PTI’s manifesto and leadership,” while adding that the government of Premier Khan has been working to bring reforms into Pakistan.

“Even in its initial days, the PTI government has brought the country on a track that leads to success,” Dr Amjad continued.

“I will join the captain’s caravan to lead the country towards success.”

Dr Amjad resigned from the chairmanship of APML, founded by ex-president retired general Pervez Musharraf, on August 10, 2018.

In July 2018 polls, Dr Amjad had withdrawn from the electoral battle at NA-53 Islamabad-II in favour of Imran Khan.
