Employees announce three-hour daily strike against PIA privatization

The series of protest demonstrations by PIA employees continued on Monday, during which the participants were carrying banners against the privatization of PIA.

Addressing the demonstration here, Hidayatullah Khan, deputy convener of joint action committee, vowed not to let anyone sell the PIA, come what may.

Pakistan Airline Pilots’ Association (Palpa) former president Captain Sohail Baloch said the national airlines was set up by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and we will not allow it to be sold out.

Members of joint action committee announced to stage a sit-in from tomorrow closing doors of the PIA head office and to observe a three-hour strike in all departments from 8:30 am to 11:30 am.

They also said that none of the higher officials including the chairman PIA will be allowed to enter offices.
