ISLAMABAD: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) meeting on Tuesday is mulling over a seven-point agenda in Islamabad, ARY News reported.
The meeting being chaired by Finance Minister Asad Umar will review the progress made on issues pertaining to Pakistan Steel Mills and cases in the National Accountability Bureau, in addition to issuance of supplementary budget of more than one billion rupees for Hajj operations.
Steps to increase employment opportunities for Pakistani workers abroad will also come under discussion.
The meeting will also discuss the demand and supply of urea in the country while reviewing the new method for issuance of licenses for the marketing of petroleum products.
Meanwhile, a report regarding stranded tankers and the vehicles at the port will also be submitted in the meeting.
Last ECC meeting held on February 12, had approved an additional guarantee of Rs6.5bn for Pakistan International Airline.
The financial support package for the PIA was approved during the ECC meeting held in Islamabad with Finance Minister Asad Umar in the chair.
The funds would be spent for maintenance of engines acquisition of related spares to put into operation the grounded planes.
The ECC meeting also discussed different proposals for the revival of agriculture sector and decided to collaborate with China to enhance cotton yield.
