DHA murder: FIR lodged against deceased’s brother for violent protest

KARACHI: Police on Thursday registered a case against the brother of Zulfikar Ali, who had been killed yesterday (Thursday) within the limits of Gizri Police Station, for damaging people’s property, creating fear and riot in Karachi.

The police have inducted, Zulfikar Ali’s brother and eight other of his family in the first information report.

It is pertinent to mention here that at least 120 people, including the deceased’s brother had staged a protest demonstration demanding of the government to apprehend Zulfikar’s murderers on Thursday.  They  had also blocked the road for more than three hours and ended their demonstration after negotiation with a high official of the police department.

On the other hand, ASP Sarfraz Wirk said that the killer of Zulfikar Ali was very cunning and added that the suspect had picked all the spent bullet casings from the scene. He said that the suspect had chosen an isolated place for the crime, where there was no CCTV camera.

The police officer said that they would collect data through goefencing of the crime scene to find any clue about the murderer. He said that they conducting raid at the house of a suspect but no one was arrested during the raid.

Earlier, a man had been shot dead by unidentified assailants near city’s Yousuf Plaza, Gulberg Town on March 27.

According to police, the man had been  killed from the point blank range and the bullet hit in his dead, hence claiming his life on the spot.

In the morning, a man identified as Zulfikar Ali had been  shot dead by armed miscreants within the limits of Gizri Police Station. The attackers had fired shots at him and fled. The victim had died on the spot.
