According to details, rescue operations were underway to rescue the remaining children who were buried under the rubble. Of the twenty-six who were buried, nine children had been rescued alive. Children who had died as a result of the roof collapse were aged between six to eight years old.
Five out of the six children who had died belonged to a single family. It was also reported that out of the twenty-six children who had been injured in the incident, nineteen had been recovered in critical condition.
According to ARY News’ correspondent, the roof of the madrassah was in poor shape and not solid. Administration officials of the madrassah were also present at the site of the collapse along with the rescue officials.
