LAHORE: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Punjab police claimed to have rounded up three suspected terrorists affiliated with a proscribed organization on Tuesday night, ARY News reported.
A spokesperson for the CTD said the militants were arrested during a raid carried out by its personnel in Lahore’s Mughalpura area.
He said explosive material and illicit arms were seized from the possession of the terrorists, who he said were associated with a banned outfit.
According to some reports, the arrested terror suspects had links with the militant Islamic State (IS).
The spokesman further said the militants have been identified as Shoaibur Rehman, Abdul Rehman, and Amir Saleem.
He claimed they wanted to carry out major acts of terrorism in Punjab province.
