Crackdown on ‘illegal’ MQM offices extended to Hyderabad

The civic administration along with Pakistan Rangers Sindh personnel arrived at MQM office located in Heerabad and razed two unit offices of the party.

The authorities said the MQM had built these offices illegally on government land.

A large number of people gathered at the spot when unit offices were being flattened, but no untoward incident occurred.

Sources informed that more MQM offices could be demolished later in the day.

Several MQM offices have been leveled in Karachi after authorities claimed they were constructed on government land without any permission. The crackdown on party offices still continuing in the provincial capital of Sindh.

It all started when violence flared on the roads of Karachi on August 22 after MQM chief addressed supporters in Karachi via telephone call, made anti-Pakistan statements and ordered them to attack media houses including ARY News for allegedly not giving due coverage to the party.

That very speech later led to a political chaos in Karachi that went absolutely against his own party for the first time in history.
