KARACHI: Citizen Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) has released its monthly crime statistics report regarding its which showed that 40 people lost their lives and 6177 deprived of valuables during the month of April.
The crime rate has significantly surged in April 2019 as 40 people were killed in different incidents, whereas 132 vehicles were stolen and snatched from the different areas of the metropolis.
According to the report, overall 2446 motorcycles were stolen and snatched, as well as 3599 Karachiites were deprived of their mobile phones by street criminals.
Four extortion cases were reported during the month, whereas, in different incidents, 40 people were murdered, the report said.

The crime data report has indicated a consistent rise in miseries of Karachiites pertain to the law and order situation.
As per previous crime reports of 2019, at least 90 people were killed in separate incidents so far while 16,421 citizens were deprived of their assets during the first three months of the current year.
21 people were killed in January, 38 in February and 30 in March, whereas, eight extortion and two robbery’s complaints were registered in the last three months.
3424 mobile phones were snatched in January, 3159 in February and 2,991 in March.
The number of stolen or snatched motorcycles stood at 1966 in January, 1990 in February and 1857 in March, whereas, 135 cars were stolen or snatched in January, 96 in February and 231 in March.
