ISLAMABAD: A couple was arrested at Islamabad International Airport for trying to smuggle ice to Saudi Arabia on Monday morning, ARY News reported.
According to Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) officials, ice weighing 890 grammes was recovered from the possession of the couple that was travelling to Jeddah via Muscat. They were taken into custody and shifted to an ANF cell for further investigation.
Earlier, on March 24, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) had claimed to have seized three kilograms of heroin worth about Rs130 million from a passenger at Islamabad International Airport.
According to ANF officials, Kausar Younus, a British national, had concealed the drugs in three bags. Upon suspicion, they said, her luggage was checked, which led to recovery of heroin in large quantity.
The woman was taken into custody and a case registered against her.
