Country’s progress left sit-ins instigators ‘anxious’: Shahbaz

LAHORE: Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has said that the elements, who wanted to stage sit-ins in Islamabad, were afraid of the country’s speedy progress.

CM Punjab, in a statement, said that said that the elements — wishing to stage protests in the country — are afraid that their politics will be buried forever if the development projects are completed.

He urged the nation to disassociate themselves from the politics of anarchy.

Sharif said, “It is now time to rid the country from unemployment, illiteracy and sorrow.”

He said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) guarantees progress and prosperity for Pakistan. He added that the fate of the country will change with the completion of development projects which are worth billions of dollars.

Trade, economic and social activities will also be promoted under CPEC.

Sharif went on to say that energy projects will end the power crisis in the country.
