Counter Terrorism Department arrest four terror suspects in Multan raid

MULTAN: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in a raid arrested four suspected terrorists in Multan, ARY News reported on Friday.

A team of CTD officials conducted a raid near Bahawalpur Bypass intersection and arrested four alleged terrorists, officials said.

According to officials, the accused had made a plan to target sensitive points in the area.

Six hand grenades, ammunition and equipment were recovered from the arrested men.

The suspects have been identified as Fazal, Aslam, Gul and Basit.

The arrested accused have been transferred to an undisclosed place for investigation, officials said.

CTD officials arrested an alleged terrorist during a raid in Abbotabad earlier this month.

Arrested terror suspect identified as Mujeebur Rehman hailed from Karachi.

He was allegedly involved in terrorist activities in Karachi and Balochistan, including target killings, bomb blasts and bank robberies, officials said.

In March the Counter Terrorism Department of the Punjab police arrested two suspected terrorists during a raid in Gujranwala, associated with a proscribed organisation.

According to CTD officials, the terror suspects, Muhammad Nawaz and Ghulam Mustafa, were arrested in a raid near Pasrur Road.

Arms and explosive material were recovered from their possession. The suspects were used to collect donations for a terrorist outfit.
