Cop killed in suicide blast targeting Aftab Sherpao

The convoy of Sherpao, the founding leader of Qaumi Watan Party, was targeted by a suicide bomber in Umarzai Bazaar, killing a cop, said DPO Charsadda.

However, Sherpao remained safe in the attack.

According to reports, the suicide

bomber attempted to approach the vehicle of Sherpao, which was effectively foiled by security personnel who shot him dead. However, explosives attached to bomber’s body went off, sources said.

The law enforcement agencies have begun investigation into the incident.
