KARACHI: A ship carrying the third batch of 70 new cargo coaches for Pakistan Railways under contract from China has reached Karachi port, ARY News reported on Tuesday.
As per Divisional Superintendent (DS) Railway, a ship loaded with cargo coaches reached Karachi port after which the management started unloading the new coaches, while the 70 cargo coaches will be set up in different freight trains.
A total of 230 cars will be imported under the agreement with Chinese officials.

In a statement, the DS Railway said, with the arrival of new coaches the number of freight trains will increase and freight operations will be improved.
Earlier, passenger train bogies and locomotives have also been imported from China and America. Moreover, the new freight coaches will be delivered to the washing line for speed testing.
