No sane person would want conflict between nuclear-armed countries: Asad Umar

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Asad Umar on Wednesday said no sane person would want a war between the two nuclear-armed countries, ARY News reported.

“Hope the sane voices in India will be able to stop Narendra Modi’s mad attempt to pitch two nuclear nations in a conflict that no sane person would want,” Asad Umar wrote in a tweet.

Upon the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) reaction of shooting down two fighter jets of the Indian Air Force (IAF) following their violation, he also expressed the hope that there were no questions left about Pakistan’s capability and will to defend itself now.

Two fighter jets of the IAF were shot down by the PAF in bright day light on Wednesday, after they violated the Line of Control (LoC).

According to Director General Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor, Indian fighter jets violated Line of Control (LoC) today, and in a robust response, the PAF destroyed two aircraft of IAF inside Pakistani airspace. Moreover, one Indian pilot has been arrested by Pakistani troops.

One IAF jet crashed inside Azad and Jammu Kashmir region while other in India occupied Kashmir, Ghafoor said in a tweet.

“PAF shot down two Indian aircraft inside Pakistani airspace. One of the aircraft fell inside AJ&K while other fell inside IOK. One Indian pilot arrested by troops on ground while two in the area,” DG ISPR tweeted.
