KARACHI: A two-week long Clean Karachi campaign on Sunday kicked off in Karachi within an aim to clean the city after the post-rain situation, ARY News reported.
Ali Zaidi had announced starting the #LetsCleanKHI movement through a tweet on Wednesday, July 31.
Politicians, celebrities, and people from other walks of life are supporting the much-needed movement for the metropolis.
The drive is being led by Maritime Minister Ali Zaidi. He said the campaign will be made successful by taking all stakeholders along.
Not a single penny from the national kitty will be spent on the campaign in the city.
As many as 1,000 tractors and more than 200 dumpers are being used in the drive.
In the first phase of the drive, six big drain nullah will be cleaned in the city, whereas spots have been highlighted in the city for the drive.

In a media briefing in Karachi on Saturday, he had said Frontier Works Oragnisation (FWO) would play an important role in the cleanliness campaign.
Ali Zaidi said the campaign would be carried out in cooperation with Karachi Metropolation corporation and all the district municipal corporations in the city.
