Two arrested for sexually abusing, filming minor girls in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA: Police on Thursday arrested two people for sexually abusing, filming and selling obscene videos of minor girls in in Gujranwala city of Punjab province, ARY News reported.

According to ARY News correspondent, police, on a tip off, raided a video shop in Kohlo Wala area of the city and confiscated a huge number of videos all of which included sexual abuse of minor girls.

Police say at least six girls were sexually abused and filmed and the arrested duo sold these videos at their shop.

Shop owners namely Rashid and Tariq were arrested and a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against the suspects. Police has claimed the none of the abused children’s parents have so far approached the police against the suspects.

The case comes at a time when Pakistan is still reeling from the ape and murder of seven-year-old Zainab Ansari in Kasur.

Kidnapped on January 4 and found from a garbage heap on January 9, Zainab’s autopsy report suggested that the minor was sexually assaulted before being strangulated to death.

On January 21, the Supreme Court gave three days’ time to a joint investigation team formed to probe the rape and murder of Zainab to track down the culprit.

The JIT arrested the culprit named Imran Arshad on January 23 after the DNA proved that he was behind the rape and murder of Zainab and at least eight other girls from Kasur.
