RAWALPINDI: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar on Sunday underwent angioplasty at the Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology.
The chief justice was taken to the hospital after he complained of chest pain. Subsequently, he was examined by doctors and his medical tests were conducted. He underwent balloon angioplasty during which the blocked artery was cleared.
According to doctors, the surgery remained successful and the chief justice is in a stable condition.
CJP Nisar has been shifted to VIP ward. On the other hand, strict security arrangements were made at the hospital to avoid any untoward situation.
Meanwhile, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa arrived at hospital and inquired about health of the CJP.
According to a recent Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, the performance of Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar was widely supported by the people of the country.
57 per cent of the respondents rated his performance in the past one year as commendable.
