LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar here on Wednesday inaugurated labor colony in Warburton area of Nankana Sahib district and distributed allotment letters of 208 flats among the industrial workers.
Addressing the ceremony, CM Buzdar said that labor colonies would be constructed in every district and added that allotment of 1189 flats of labor colonies of Lahore and Multan would be started soon.
He said, “The second phase of Warburton’s labor flats will be stared along with the construction of 50-bedded social security hospitals in Sargodha, DG Khan and Rahim Yar Khan districts.”
The chief minister said that that minimum wages of untrained and trained workers were being fixed at Rs.16500 and Rs.17000 to Rs.19000, respectively.

CM Buzdar further said, “70-acre land has been allocated for the establishment of Baba Guru Nanak University in Nankana Sahib.”
He said that in fact, the common man was deceived in the name of ‘roti, kapra aur makan’ and added,” The common man is the pivot of PTI’s policies.”
The chief minister said that MOU had been signed with Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and research cent to start a health management information system in social security hospitals.
He announced that marriage grant would be increased from Rs100,000 to Rs150,000 while the amount of death grant will be enhanced from Rs500,000 to Rs600,000.
The chief minister said that a comprehensive Punjab Labor Policy 2018 had been approved by the cabinet and necessary amendments were also being made in labor laws to facilitate the workers.
On the occasion, Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that 88,000 Sehat Insaf Cards would be distributed in Nankana Sahib.
