CM Buzdar orders stern action against substandard food at hotels

LAHORE:  Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Thursday directed the concerned officials to keep a check on the quality of food being sold at hotels, motels and restaurants across the province.

According to a statement released from his office, CM Buzdar directed to check the food quality at hotels, especially in Murree and other tourist spots. The chief minister directed the DG Food Authority to initiate indiscriminate action against the hotels and restaurants providing substandard meals to the tourists and passengers.

 ‘Such elements do not deserve any leniency. Indiscriminate action should be initiated and no pressure be tolerated in the campaign against adulteration mafia,” he added.

CM Buzdar directed the Punjab Food Authority to devise comprehensive strategy to eliminate milk-adulteration and enforcement of pasteurization.

The Chief Minister said that no pressure should be tolerated in the interest of the public because there is no room for adulteration in the new Pakistan.

DG Food Authority apprise the meeting that 1.25 lakh food points had been checked in past six months and more than three thousand had been sealed.
