Sources said the bus was heading towards Hijera area from Pulandri. Around 40 passengers were aboard in the bus.
DIG said they were facing difficulty in rescue works because of darkness, however the process of shifting injured and dead to hospital is continued.
In a separate road mishap, a speeding passenger bus overturned near Morr Khanda area of Nankana Sahib leaving 20 injured. Several injured are in critical condition.
