Brother of ex-CM Balochistan joins PTI

QUETTA: The brother of former Balochistan chief minister Sardar Sanaullah Zehri has joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Mir Naimatullah Zehri was elected as independent candidate from PB-36 in Kalat. He made the announcement after meeting PTI Balochistan President Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind.

Rind welcomed him and other who have joined to the party. He said the number of PTI candidates in Balochistan has increased to six after Zehri’s joining.

He also said the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) will support PTI in the centre. The BAP will form the next government in Balochistan and have nominated Jam Kamal Khan as the candidate for the next chief minister.

Rind said that they would support every positive step taken by Jam Kamal to solve the problems faced by the province and eradicate corruption. He said the PTI will also support the BAP in Balochistan.

He further said that the PTI chairman Imran Khan will fulfill promises made to the people of Balochistan, and will provide health, education and reform the police system.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Sanaullah Zehri managed to win the PB-38 seat with 11,814 votes, while his brother Naimatullah received 11,280 votes to win the PB-36 seat.

Zehri was the chief minister of Balochistan from December 24, 2015 to January 7, 2016 and stepped down after a no-confidence motion was raised against him.

The PTI had also contacted Jahoori Watan Party (JWP) led by Shahzain Bugti who has left for Islamabad. He is expected to meet PTI leaders at Imran Khan’s residence in Bani Gala and eventually with the PTI chairman as well.

Shahzain Bugti was victorious from NA-259 seat with 27,087 votes, while his brother Gohram secured the PB-10 Dera Bugti seat with 27,190 votes.
