ISLAMABAD: British Prime Minister Theresa May called Prime Minister Imran Khan and congratulated him on being elected 22nd chief executive of Pakistan.
She also expressed good wishes for his government.
May said her government is ready to open new vistas of partnership with Pakistan in various sectors.
She said the UK will assist the new government in every possible way and hoped that bilateral relations between Pakistan and the UK will further improve.
In his remarks, Mr Khan said money laundering is a serious issue for the developing countries. He sought Britain’s support in anti-money laundering efforts of the government.
He thanked the British PM on expressing good wishes for Pakistan.
May totally agreed with the views of Khan and acceded to take steps with Pakistan to combat the menace of money laundering.
