ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday ordered the authorities to raise the issue of posting blasphemous content on social media websites with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, ARY News reported.
Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui heard the case regarding posting of blasphemous material on social media websites on Thursday.
The judge, in his remarks, said that blasphemy is the biggest issue of the country. He stated that the prime minister may be summoned if no action taken against the offenders.
He also ordered the law enforcement agencies to take action against the people involved in the offence.
Justice Siddiqui observed that the whole judiciary is united on the matter but the Parliament is still silent.
It should be noted that the court earlier ordered the Interior Ministry to include the names of all those people who upload blasphemous content on social media websites in the Exit Control List (ECL).
