Martyrs of deadly Karsaz tragedy remembered

In his message, PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, son of Benazir (late), said on October 18 the PPP activists created history with their blood.

“Terrorists wanted to push the country into stone age by killing Benazir Bhutto and rest of party leadership, yet they failed in their evil motive,” he said.

People by gathering in millions upon arrival of Benazir Bhutto conveyed a message that they were united against terrorism and extremism, added the PPP chairman.

Meanwhile, CM Sindh Qaim Ali Shah also paid homage to the martyrs of Karsaz tragedy saying that the party can never forget the sacrifices of its martyrs.

On October 18, 2007, a bomb attack targeted a motorcade carrying former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto at Karsaz, Karachi.

The bombing had resulted in the killing of at least 139 people, while over 450 were wounded. Majority of dead were PPP activists.
