Petrol crisis: Ogra turns guns on oil marketing companies

Government committee on petrol crisis made a unique decision when it declared Ogra responsible for the scarcity of petrol in the country.

In return, Ogra issued show-cause notices to eleven oil marketing companies in the country.

The regulatory authority asked the oil marketing companies to submit their answer within three days.

Earlier on Tuesday, the initial report on petroleum crisis submitted to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif held the Ogra responsible for the crisis.

PM Sharif had formed a two-member committee to inquire into the fuel crisis in the country.

The inquiry committee in its preliminary report held the Ogra responsible for the crisis as regulator. The report said that the regulator failed to fulfill its responsibilities.
