CTD claims arrest of terrorist involved in Hazara community killings

QUETTA: Balochistan’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a leading commander of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) “involved in killing” members of Hazara community, ARY News reported.

Addressing a news conference, Deputy Inspector General CTD, Aitzaz Goraya, along with the DIG Frontier Corps (FC), announced the arrest of a terrorist Doctor Abdul Raheem over his involvement in targeted killings of people belonging to Hazara community in the province.

Goraya said that Abdul Raheem was a wanted terrorist involved in over 160 target killings with a Rs2million bounty on his head.

In reply to a query, he said that several terrorist camps are operative in Afghanistan which are imparting training of terrorism to the youth with the aim of disrupting peace in Pakistan particularly in Balochistan province.

It is pertinent to note here that members of Hazara community have been protesting in Quetta for the past three days over persistent killings of their loved ones by terrorists in the city.
