Attacks on Chinese Consulate, Orakzai planned to create unrest: PM Imran

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday took to Twitter to share his thoughts about the two major recent attacks on Chinese Consulate Karachi and Mandi Bazar of Orakzai Agency, calling the two offensives  “part of a planned campaign to create unrest in the country.”

He wrote, “I am absolutely clear both these attacks are part of a planned campaign to create unrest in the country by those who do not want Pakistan to prosper. Let there be no doubt in anyone’s mind that we will crush the terrorists, whatever it takes.”

In another tweet, the premier stated, “The failed attack against the Chinese Consulate was clearly a reaction to the unprecedented trade agreements that resulted from our trip to China.”

The attack was conducted in a bid to undermine China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and further scare the Chinese investors. Nonetheless, he assured that “these terrorists will not succeed.”

Condemning both the tragic attacks, PM Khan prayed for victims and their families. Moreover, he paid tribute to the security forces and said, “Salute the brave security/police personnel who gave their lives & denied success to terrorists in the mission ag [against] Chinese Consulate.”

Earlier today, PM Khan also ordered an immediate investigation into the attack on Chinese Consulate Karachi and dubbed this particular incident as a ‘conspiracy’ against the CPEC.
