Ashfaq Laghari’s family receives call for ransom from Afghanistan

KARACHI: Family of Ashfaq Laghari, an aide of former president Asif Zardari, on Tuesday received a call for ransom from Afghanistan, ARY News reported.

Ashfaq Laghari, while on his way to Hyderabad from Karachi, was kidnapped a few days ago.

Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) official sources said they were trying to trace the call reportedly received from Afghanistan.

While, fingerprints of three people have been taken from Ashfaq’s vehicle and efforts are on to find the culprits through fingerprints data available with National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), they added.

Ashfaq’s vehicle is confined with Gadap police station where its forensic test was carried out.

Family of the victim is terrified and cautious about disseminating details of the call received by Laghari’s daughter to media.

It is pertinent to mention here that two more close aides of Zardari, Nawab Laghari and Ghulam Qadir Marri have also recently been abducted from different locations.
