ARY News reporters Asif Qureshi and Zulqarnain Sheikh were arrested in Lahore and a case was registered against them. They were also presented in a judicial magistrate court to frame charges against them.
Sheikh said the railways’ officials had clear directions from the minister Khwaja Saad Rafique to give ARY reporters a lesson for ‘unearthing covert practices’ in the ministry.
He told that police also tortured them throughout last night to vent their anger.

The court handed over both the reporters in judicial custody, while urged the court for 7-day physical remand of the ARY correspondents.
ARY’s whistle-blowing program, Sar-e-Aam, hosted by Iqrarul Hasan had conducted a sting operation wherein railways’ officials took bribe and allowed smuggling of weapons via train from Lahore to Karachi. The aforementioned two reporters helped the Sar-e-Aam team in the sting operation and railway police arrested them.
