Army chief meets students, plays chess

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said Pakistan is blessed with most talented and vibrant youth, which is the country’s real defense.

The COAS said this while interacting with a group of students from different public schools managed by a non-profit organization, Zindagi Trust, at the General Headquarters (GHQ), according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The military’s media wing said the army chief encouraged the youth to keep themselves abreast of latest developments in different fields including science, IT technology as well as new disciplines to compete at international level.

The army chief played chess game with a girl student as a goodwill gesture.

The group which met the COAS included students who, apart from education, have excelled in different sporting fields including cricket, football and chess, said the ISPR.

Shehzad Roy, the founder of the organization, and DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor were also present on the occasion.
