Army chief reviews Zarb-e-Azb progress in Khyber

According to DG ISPR Major General Asim Salim Bajwa, the COAS visited frontline troops amidst an ongoing operation in Khyber Agency. He reviewed phenomenal progress so far in eliminating terrorists.

General Sharif was briefed that that 263 hard core terrorists have been killed after being surrounded in Tirah and Khyber from all sides.


“Terrorists’ strongholds have been reduced while fight now in progress in last few pickets close to Afghan border. The forces vowed not to let any terrorist escape.” The DG ISPR said areas infested with improvised explosive devices were mostly foreign

made. He said 392 IEDs were neutralized by special engineering unit. He said 35 soldiers embraced Shahadat since start of Khyber-2 Operation. Meanwhile, COAS paid rich tribute to supreme sacrifice of soldiers and appreciated successes.

He directed to continue momentum of operation and take it to logical end till “we fully eliminate terrorism from across the country and bring ultimate peace”. The nation highly values sacrifices and stands united with armed forces, he added.

The Army Chief also appreciated tribal brethren for full support to evict terrorists from their areas.
